Frequently Asked Questions
How does GhostDrop work?
+
GhostDrop allows you to drop anonymous messages at specific locations using GPS coordinates. Other users can only discover and read these messages when they are physically near the location where the message was dropped.
Is my location data stored?
+
We only store the locations of messages you drop, not your personal location or movement data. Your privacy is our priority, and we use minimal data collection practices.
How close do I need to be to read a message?
+
You typically need to be within 50-100 meters of where a message was dropped to unlock and read it. The exact distance may vary based on GPS accuracy and location settings.
Are messages really anonymous?
+
Yes! Messages are completely anonymous. We don't store any information that could identify who sent a message. Your username and profile are separate from your message history.
Can I delete messages I've dropped?
+
Currently, messages cannot be deleted once dropped to maintain the anonymous nature of the platform. We're considering adding time-limited messages in future updates.
Why do I need to verify my email?
+
Email verification helps prevent spam and abuse while maintaining anonymity. It also allows us to send you important updates about the app and helps with account recovery if needed.
The app won't open from email links
+
Make sure you have the latest version of GhostDrop installed. If the app still won't open, try copying the verification link and opening it in your mobile browser, then manually opening the GhostDrop app.
